Top South African Expert to Keynote Accra HR Summit

Accra-Senior Human Resource professionals from across Africa will meet in Accra on 24-25th June for the second annual Brighter Futures conference organised by Occupational Management Limited. This year’s main keynote speaker is Dr Cookie Govender who is lecturer at the Industrial Psychology and People Management Department at the Faculty of Management at University of Johannesburg.
Dr Govender’s key note address will focus on "Towards a Performance Management Model for Higher Education Employees"

HR Practitioners, Employers, Job Seekers to Meet at Accra Expo

A 2-day Recruitment and Job fair aimed at stimulating the Ghanaian job market takes place in Accra on 24-25th June 2011 as part of the international HR event dubbed “Brighter Futures 2011”. Thousands of job seekers, graduates, students, national service personnel, people changing careers, etc are expected to view job vacancies, recruitment and Human Resource services and products on display whiles attending CV clinics and interview workshops to increase their chances of landing that illusive job.

Unemployment is on the increase in Ghana and the situation made more difficult by the lack of accurate data on the levels. The 2006 Country Economic Memorandum report of the World Bank stated that Ghana’s unemployment rate had declined from 75.9% to 71.6%. It however indicated that Accra has a more worrying unemployment problem with close to 10% of the active population being available for work even if only 50% of them are actively looking for a job.

Venture Capital Firms Meet SMEs at Business Sense

Leading venture capital fund managers in Ghana and UK will discuss how to access much needed capital with business owners, entrepreneurs and managing directors of small and medium scale enterprises at Business Sense 2011 conference.
